Washington, D.C., May 27, 2010 – Constitution Square’s first retailer opened Tuesday, the 100-seat Constitution Café at 145 N Street, NE, in NoMa, the area north of Massachusetts Avenue. Billed as a “cuisine superstore,” Constitution Café offers a variety of breakfast and lunch offerings, including sushi, full salad and hot bars, and sandwiches to order.

“We are pleased to have the first of our many retailers open,” said Doug Firstenberg, Principal of StonebridgeCarras, the developer of Constitution Square. “We look forward to the balance of our retailers opening this fall as well as exciting new retail announcements.” StonebridgeCarras recently announced five new shops and restaurants at Constitution Square, including a Tynan Coffee & Tea, Potbelly, Georgetown Valet and TD Bank; Constitution Café is the first to open.

“Constitution Café offers a variety of lunch options that will complement our existing small retailers on Second Street, NE,” said NoMa Business Improvement District President Liz Price. More than 5,000 new employees and 1,200 residents will move to NoMa over the next few months, Price said, and these amenities are vital to the neighborhood’s office workers and residents.
