Mahjong is a game commonly played with four players and special tiles originating in China during the Qing dynasty. Now played all over the world and most widespread in Eastern and South Eastern Asia, this skillful game of strategy is sometimes compared to rummy, the Western card matching game.
Become an expert in reading minds and faces using more than 100 tiles based on Chinese characters and symbols. Draw or “rob” a piece from another player. Enjoy a Burmese meal, make new friends, or act quickly and buy out the whole table!
What to expect:
Join Toli Moli on Monday, March 4th and Monday, March 18th for a special two-hour game night and supper social at the bodega. Start your evening with a mahjong lesson from 5-6 p.m., and then from 6-7 p.m. enjoy some open practice and free play with a full meal from our Burmese kitchen!
