Join Gallaudet University archives specialist Jerrod Grill for a tour that reveals pioneering landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted, Sr.’s, involvement with the campus as well as the contemporary design approach informed by the unique ways in which deaf people live and inhabit space. Tour will be aided by voice interpreters. This tour is organized as part of The Cultural Landscape Foundation’s What’s Out There Weekend D.C., a weekend of free, expert-led tours featuring dozens of sites, including national icons, gardens, campuses, plazas, public parks, and cultural institutions. An online city guide and printed guidebook will be produced in tandem with the Weekend and available on The Cultural Landscape Foundation’s website, tclf.org.
